 An option Psiberware offers is an ASP (Application Service Provider) system, Psiberware Direct. In this model, Psiberware Direct will set up and host the application on a server farm. It will run on its own dedicated equipment in an environment furnished by a hosting specialty company. This facility features secure fl oor space, redundant power, regulated HVAC and 24/7 security on the property. Servers are housed in a isolated rack that only we are allowed to access. They offer multiple connections broadband connections to the internet, with automatic switching from one connection to another in case of service interruption. Serving the applications in this way will give everyone the same great features, but greatly reduce the initial costs of new software installation. New hardware requirements will be at a minimum. We utilize existing technology to host everything on central servers, with processing through Microsoft Terminal Services. This allows us to make our product available to every platform from Mac OS 9 to Microsoft XP. This software basically puts a virtual desktop on every machine and moves the processing in “real time” functions to more powerful servers that are hosting the application.
Our hosted program will work the same as it does in the standalone model.

- If a paper outgrows this solution – or decides to keep its operations local – the system can be moved to its local server.
